I have mapped out a fifty-two week scripture study for the boys to celebrate and learn about the life of St. Paul for the Pauline year. We'll start with Saul's appearance at the stoning of St. Stephen and work our way through Acts of the Apostles, then do an overview of each of St. Pauls letters.
Once a week, we'll read the designated section of Scripture and talk about it. We'll look for clues to St. Paul's character and who he was and we'll mark his missionary journeys on laminated maps hung on our liturgical line. The kids will use figures from this Playmobil collection to create a scene depicting the Scripture story and we will display it using this awesome idea from my favorite ladies!
My goal is not for the kids to have a deep knowledge of every scripture passage studied--they are all under 10, after all, but to have a weekly reminder of our Church's devotion for the year and finish that celebration with a good idea of who St. Paul was and the major events of his life as portrayed in the book of Acts.
If you'd like to follow along, I've posted the weekly breakdown in a typelist on the sidebar. I hope to add a picture of our display each week as we go along.
We'd love to hear how your family is living the Pauline year as well.
