The excitement in our home about the arrival of Pope Benedict XVI in the US is growing daily. He arrives in Washington D.C. this evening and we will spend the rest of the week watching him, listening to him, praying for him, and celebrating with great joy the fact that our shepherd is so near.
Here are plans for the week:
TUESDAY
- Prayer: Memorare novena for the Pope's safety
- Popcorn and soda to watch His Holiness' arrival (EWTN's coverage schedule)
- Craft: rocks painted with the papal cross and "on this rock I will build my church"inscribed on he back

WEDNESDAY
- Prayer: rosary for our nation's leaders
- German food for dinner :
